BIHC depends on billing, grants, investment income, and fundraising for its survival. The Block Island Medical Center was opened in 1989 as a result of islanders who understood the need and came forward with the means to build the island's first healthcare facility. We depend on the community and visitors to continue to show support, so we can continue to provide comprehensive healthcare services.
Donations
The Block Island Health Center exists to protect the health and safety of our island residents and visitors. To date, BIHC has been able to accomplish its mission because of the contributions of many.
Capital Campaign
Our $14 million Capital Campaign is funding a historical renovation and expansion of the Health Center and growing the endowment.
