Dear Residents of Block Island,

I would like to introduce myself and my organization, Specialized Orthopedic Physical Therapy (SOPT). We are pleased to announce that we will become the new provider of physical therapy services at Block Island Health Services starting Wednesday, February 4, 2026.

Our initial hours will be Wednesdays from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM and Thursdays from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM. As demand increases, we plan to add Tuesdays from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM to better serve the community.

Since 2002, SOPT has provided high-quality, patient-centered care across Rhode Island. Dr. Alexander Pedus, DPT, will be the primary provider at the Block Island facility. We are also excited to announce that Block Island resident Allie Littlefield, PTA, will join our team, initially in an administrative role before transitioning into clinical care.

We have built a strong reputation over the last 23 years by fostering a professional and positive healing environment. We look forward to bringing this model of care to the island and supporting your rehabilitation needs.
