Jim Fiorato, Town of New Shoreham Representative
Jim Fiorato has had a lifelong connection to Block Island, which began with boating to the Island with his parents when he was a young child. As an avid sailor he continued to visit the Island for much of his adult life and made the decision to move here more than 20 years ago. Jim and his wife, Dorrie purchased their home here in 2000, and have been full-time residents since 2003.
Jim’s professional resume includes more than 15 years at NY-Presbyterian Hospital working as a manager in Hospital Administration, Information Systems and the Pathology Department. From 1988-1994, he managed the NY office of a Houston based Healthcare Information System vendor, implementing systems throughout most major NY City Hospitals. He then formed his own Information Systems Consulting Company which he operated for more than a decade.
Jim currently serves as the Town Council representative on the Block Island Health Services Board of Directors. He is a member of the BI Lions Club and a founding member and flag officer for the Block Island Yacht Club, whose primary mission is to support maritime related activities for Block Island residents.
Jim is extremely interested in supporting the critical mission of the Block Island Medical Center to provide essential services to island residents and visitors.
